As of the census of 2010, there were 35,893 people, 14,387 households, and 9,550 families residing in the city. The population density was 3,216.2 inhabitants per square mile (1,241.8/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 69.7% White or European American, 23.3% African American, 0.2% Native American, 1.8% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 1.3% from other races, and 3.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.4% of the population.
